Hello,
I am trying to create a DCP from a Rec709(scene) file from Resolve. When I simply adjust the Rec. 709 preset to Input gamma: 1.96, the blacks are crushed. Do I need to change other settings, and is the "Simple Gamma" setting under the Rec.709 preset the correct choice. If "linearized", what should the input power, etc. be?
I need to retime 23.976 to 24, hence the reason for moving from Resolve.
Thanks for any help.

The internet seems rather vague and contradictory about what Rec.709(scene) means but if these pages are to be believed you could try setting up the colour conversion as:

Thank you, Carl! I will try that and report back! I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Yes...not sure why Resolve can't explicitly provide simple, clairfying info on it in their documentation!

Resolve is quite transparent about Gamma handling. The only common question usually when dealing with rec.709 is wether 2.2 or 2.4 is chosen. Of course, when grading, you need to setup a decent monitoring setup. Even if gamma parameters are setup properly in Resolve, you judge by your eye during the grading process, so you need to be sure about the actual gamma your monitoring pipeline applies - that is Resolve AND your monitor.

Hi Carsten,
I understand that-- however it was graded as Rec709 "Scene", which is neither 2.4 or 2.6.
