Audio Distortion when export

Post by cvila »

Hi, I have found several times that the audio resulting from exporting a DCP to ProRes gets distorted.

It happens when the original PCM data is hitting Full scale during loud scenes, the original audio hits 0dB and stays there, but the audio in the ProRes export folds down weirdly and creates audible distortion. See screenshot.

IMO Audio should not be that loud in the first place but anyway.. I was assuming the audio data was being copied 1:1 but it seems to not be the case.

I'm using DOM 2.16.89 ON Mac.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Sounds like it could be some bug in converting between sample representations (e.g. int to float).
