I installed dcpomatic and the player programs on my Rocky 9 system using the appimages, and the program shows up and looks like it's doing something so I assume that means it worked.
I created the Sintel dcp as detailed in the manual and ended up with this:
ASSETMAP.xml
cpl_624e985b-c2c0-48b1-91d3-a5e7c4daef7e.xml
j2c_1f77f1c5-b559-49f4-9dcb-34f349e97b43.mxf
pcm_bdd3a497-8e43-420d-b25c-dac1d4313ad1.mxf
pkl_61a6f308-1019-42cf-a652-4983a2c4a4f9.xml
VOLINDEX.xml
But when I load the dcpomatic player program and try to load the dcp, all of the files in that directory are greyed out.
So I'm trying to load the wrong thing or I did something wrong when I created the dcp?
So here I am, with a first question

Hi Frank,
It's a bit confusing because you are trying to open the DCP folder rather than any particular file. I think once you can see the greyed-out files you can click "OK" in the file dialog and the DCP should load.

That actually worked.
Since the dcp consists of X number of files, then to load the dcp you open the directory that they're in.
That makes sense. Thanks Carl!
Now I'll have to spend some time playing with this new toy.
And as I said in my first message, your appimages seem to work fine so there's no need to create anything else to run on Rocky 9. (Or RHEL 9 since they're the same thing.)
