Hi all,
Here are some links
https://dcpomatic.com/build/1575-save-windows/39a0181
to DCP-o-matic builds that have a new feature - the position and size of most of the windows in the applications should be saved and restored when you re-start the software. This is a slightly risky feature, and the code is quite fiddly to accommodate differences between platforms, so I would appreciate any testing. Leave a message in the thread with your experiences, if you try it out!
If there isn't a link to a build for your preferred platform, let me know and I can provide one.

Re: Testers wanted: saving window position
We have these issues with player when e.g. in dual screen / full screen configurations sometimes the application menus are not accessible. Wondering also what happens when DCP-o-matic is configured to dual screen, but then the second screen is missing on startup, as e.g. with notebooks.
Wondering wether there could be an easy way to reset display settings to default - e.g. when the application is started with a certain key pressed.

Re: Testers wanted: saving window position
Editing preferences is not available in the player and clicking on it closes the player without any message.

Window position handling is fine. Does player output picture position has dependency to the language settings? In Farsi, picture is shifted to the right side of the screen, so we see half of the picture.

Thanks, I made a note of the Ubuntu 24.04 launch problem here: https://dcpomatic.com/bugs/view.php?id=3010

Re: Testers wanted: saving window position
This is happening to me:
As you can see the image is severely displaced the time-code is the center of the frame. No resizing fixes this. The images I'm posting are from a 2.39 file, but the same problem happens with a 16:9.
Also, going to full-screen mode means the menus are unavailable, and I have to shut down the software via the program manager. I've tested this at 4k monitor and 1080 monitor rez. No difference.
Just a quick edit/eddendumA severe resizing allowed the entire width of the frame to appear, but nothing can restore the top third.
Everything else seems to work okay...?
Windows 7 Nvidia GTX 970, 4K Monitor. DCP-matic 2.18.15
Hope this is useful.

Re: Testers wanted: saving window position
I just downloaded and installed 2.18.16
The issue I described in a previous post of image off-setting continues.
