export error

Post by lemgeo »

Hi,
export to prores or h264 and preview audio are very usefull, but I get error messages when i try to export either to prores or to h264.
the error messages are:
could not allocate FFmpeg format context, if output file is set to none
and if i specify an output file:
programming error at .../src/lib/ffmpeg_encoder.cc:306

should I change something to video tab (like scale or colour conversion)?

I'm using windows 7

Thanks

I have similar errors in OS X. I guess we have to wait a bit until this becomes more robust.

test version 2.11.10 (on MacOS Sierra) correctly exports subtitleless DCPs to mp4
but it aborts and displays "Programming error at ../src/lib/image.cc:235"
when Interop or SMPTE subtitles are present ; is this confirmed by other Mac users?

Could my 'SRT Edit Pro' subtitle generator be the culpritt...

That's just a DCP-o-matic bug. I think I've fixed it ready for 2.11.11.

Good news Carl ! when will you release this '11' test version?
The Grenoble short-form film festival is drowned under DCPs,
it would considerably help the subtitle verification team to put it at work.

2.11.11* successfully converts DCP to MP4 (just in time as they say ;-) )
ProRes still chokes on font 74 but being slower and heavier than H264,
it's not that useful for fast DCP verification anyway.
Thank you Carl !

this seems to be a playback glitch only ; there is no more blank subtitles
on mm:ss.01 frames (nor on the 00:00.00 start frame)
when playing back a v.2.11.11 made DCP on v.2.10.5.

Maybe this is the same as with video - since some of the recent test versions, the preview will initially be black always on the first frame when you cue to it e.g. by selecting 'jump to selected content'. But it's just a display issue.
