Re: PNG subtitles
Not yet, I'm afraid (with DoM at least!). It's on the list.

Re: PNG subtitles
No, you can't. Well, not immediately.
There would be a way to use PNG style subtitles if you could wrap them as VOB/bitmap subs and multiplex them with the video file. It is doable, but cumbersome. As they can only be used in a DCP as burn-in subtitles, you could use a text subtitle file and burn them in right away. The only reason to use bitmap subs that way would be if they need to be carried into the DCP in their very special artistic design, or if they had properties that can not be conveyed with classic text based subtitles.
PNG subs DCP style would need to be wrapped as external files (similarly to timed text) - DCP-o-matic currently does not support that.
I have only very rarely seen PNG subtitled DCPs, but I know they are used a lot in certain markets, e.g. with very complex writing systems, like with asian writing, or Left-To-Right writing systems.
