When I uncheck "Use ISDCF name" the Name in the box above changes from the non-ISDCF name I entered when creating the project to an ISDCF name - is this not the wrong way round!
I'm sure it used to work ok in the previous version.

Hmm, yes... that's a new change, the idea being that you can un-tick ISDCF name and then edit the one that DCP-o-matic made without it fiddling with it any more. "ISDCF name" should perhaps more correctly be named "auto-generate ISDCF name".
If you un-tick "ISDCF name" then remove the auto-generated one from the name box you can put your own in and DCP-o-matic won't touch it.
I'll have a think about whether this interface could be improved...
