Post by cinema.saudia »

Hello everyone!

Anyone knows how to fix this error? I'm using Barco DP2k-15C with DOREMI Shawvault Server.

Here's the link: https://ibb.co/ciYi2K

I'm done ingesting the OV file
The VF file
But when I try to ingest the KDM, this one happen.

Thank you everyone!

A SMPTE DCP? Any specific reasons to do SMPTE instead of Interop?

Unfortunately, that guy never reported back to us I think.

Looks like the same issue - which software version is running on the ShowVault, and which version of DCP-o-matic are you using?

Hi again Carsten,

A guy from VOX Cinema (Bahrain) told us to use SMPTE instead of IOP.

But anyway... Our DOREMI Software version is 2.8.16 and I'm using DCP-o-matic version 2.12.11

In general, SMPTE is fine, but maybe the issue is solved after the Doremi has been updated to 2.8.20.

I guess we would still love to know the reason for this problem, as it could be that DCP-o-matic is doing something wrong here.

Hi Carsten,

and also hello everyone.

Just to confirm, IOP is working in DOREMI (2.8.16) and DCP-o-matic (2.12.11). Thank you very much Carsten for your help.

@Carsten, so just to confirm. Is the IOP the safest to use right now for all the Cinema Projectors out there?

Yes, as a general rule, IOP is the safest still. The industry is slowly transitioning towards SMPTE, but there are still some small issues to solve.

Currently, the only need to go SMPTE is if you use other frame rates than 24 or 25 fps (or use advanced features like HFR, HDR, ATMOS).
I guess many systems will even play 30fps in Interop fine.

Can you supply this subtitle file to me that caused this error? I may try on a Doremi here.
