Problem of slow motion images on DCP

Post by camillemila »

Hello,

I got a serious problem of slow motion on the render of my DCP. Even if i change it in 24 or 25 images, the result is the same. It only happen when we do a projection at the cinema. And it’s really confusing because when i exported the file from Adobe Premiere in H264, it didn’t had this problem. So i guess it comes from DCP-O-Matic but i don’t know why, i’m really lost....

If anyone can help me it would be awesome !! :(

(Sorry if i made mistakes in english because i’m french!)

Thksss

Maybe you created a 24fps DCP from a 30fps source file, or a similar combination?

It's an 29,97 frame rate, and it's the same than the movie it comes from. (i put 30 frame rate on DCP-O-Matic)

So the problem really comes from the conversion i think

That's what I did ! I put it in 24 frame rate rather than 30 fram rate and i through it was the solution : but the result was the same.

The DCP is still in slow motion....

Maybe your server can not play 30fps? What server is it? Did you create an Interop or SMPTE DCP?

Technically, it is possible to create a 30fps DCP from a 29,97 or 30fps source. However, not all servers can play 30fps DCPs.

If you import the file into DCP-o-matic, but set the DCP parameters to 24 or 25fps - a slowdown is the only logical outcome.
