Hello,
I have searched the forum and the site and am unable to find an answer...
Is it possible to insert markers into SMPTE DCP's using DOM? specifically First Frame Moving Credits?
I know its possible for SMPTE DCP's to do this as i have gotten studio releases this way but i dont currently have an example CPL to look a the formatting, and it seems that adding something to a signed CPL will make it invalid.
Thank you in advance.

Re: markers
Hey Carsten
Did you folks get around to adding SMPTE CPL makers to DOM?
FFOC / LFOC First / Last Frame Of a Composition intended for display
FFTC / LFTC First / Last Frame of Title Credits at the beginning of a feature
FFOI / LFOI First / Last Frame Of Intermission
FFOB / LFOB First / Last Frame Of Ratings Band slate at beginning of a feature
FFEC / LFEC First / Last Frame End Credits
FFMC / LFMC First / Last Frame Moving Credits (moving end titles, end roller)
Best
Ben

Hi,
Yes, they're in the test version although I've not heard about anybody trying them yet... keep us posted if you give them a shot!

Oh brilliant - I've not been asked for them specifically on the next DCP but I may just test do a test build with them on.
Unfortunately I won't have access to test though - given the pandemic.
I'll have a looksie soon - but any chance you read markers from a Quicktime file labelled for the purpose?

Not at the moment but if you can provide a sample quicktime file I can take a look at some point.

Re: markers
I don't think that is a good idea. Markers are in Quicktime files for all sorts of reasons. Imagine markers getting into a DCP and then triggering house lights anywhere in the movie. No, I think they should be set deliberately during the DCP mastering process. We exhibitors always fight with either wrong or non-existent markers/note sheets. They need to be set and checked on the final composition within DCP-o-matic. I have no trouble if markers in a source file can be viewed/inspected from within DCP-o-matic.
Practically, for most features, first frame of rolling credits is the most important marker. If present, they really must be correct.

Re: markers
I have tested the markers on a Doremi unit a while back... They are there. I haven't had time to test if they trigger but I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't.
