Hi,
My DCP (SMTP rec.709 settings) Turns out slightly darker than my Master. I've got a DCP player where I can play the DCP.
See example. Up is DCP player and below is Quicktime.
What could that be. [attachment[/attachment]

Hi,
Could be a number of things. What file did you use to make the DCP from, and where did you export that file from? Is your player picking up that the source file is Rec. 709?

The master file is a proves 422HQ. Exported from FCPX. The DCP player plays sRGB. If I set the colour conversion in DCPmaker on sRGB the result is the same. A little darker.

Re: DCP turns slightly darker than original
You will never get exactly the same result with an arbitrary choice of players and color spaces. Quicktime has a long history of complaints regarding gamma shifts, etc.
The only way to get this right is to watch the DCP in a cinema environment with a reliable color and gamma reference, and grade as necessary.

Thanks, that make sense. Actually I'm testing as we speak at a cinema. Thanks for the support!
