Userbility: Ingest of non-ISDCF labeld DCPs

Post by phili2p »

// A bit offtopic, as it's more about ingesting than creating. //

Hi everybody,

Beside the shorts I convert with dcp-o-matic, I also recieve a bunch of DCPs from around the world. Some of them sent folders with non-ISDCF name or even the .xmls and .xmfs without any folder. However. So now I'm worried about the ingest process: Is it possibly that the projectionist is not able to see the film as the folder is named wrong? Is there any chance to rename the folders?

Thanks for your suggestions!

I have heard some anecdotes about some folder names not ingesting (e.g. those with strange characters) but nothing concrete. The servers are not supposed to care. You can rename folders as you like, it should not affect the ingestion process (as long as you don't rename the files themselves).
