Copied Hash File does not match remote file hash

Post by cinema.saudia »

Hello Everyone,

We'll be having an event this week. I'm using "DCP Transfer" Software for MacOS Sierra and I'm still having this error:
IMG_1808.jpg
Server: DOREMI Showvault
DCP Transfer Ver: 1.1.3

Thank you in advance!

Test the DCP on the machine where you created it with DCP-o-matic player 2.13.x.
It has a DCP integrity check which will also check hashes. If the original DCP is corrupt, DCP transfer can not fix it.

If you don't succeed, download the free trial of Tuxera NTFS for Mac and try an NTFS formatted disc. All servers understand NTFS.

Hi- I'm getting the same error as above after sending a DCP compressed as a .zip file over Dropbox to a theater. Hash file mismatch.

I tested the DCP locally in DOM Player v2.16.30, verified with no issues (Only 2 SMPTE errors for missing credits markers).

I'm on a MacBook Pro 2019, OSX Monterey 12.5.1.

My guess: The theatre needs to use 7-ZIP to uncompress the DCP. Macs use a special 64Bit ZIP extension for large ZIP files. So far, only 7-ZIP can deal with these large archives correctly. This can hit you if your ZIP file grows larger than 4GByte.

See e.g. here: https://dcpomatic.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... +ZIP#p9388

Thanks for the suggestion! I will let them know.

Would it also help to just upload the DCP folder without compressing it or would that cause a different problem?

The folder as is should work as well. One should probably use the DropBox client on both sides (as opposed to a web upload/download), because that adds another level of transfer checking.
