Hi
I have run my DCP through 'Writer' and it seems to do something but never ends up creating a drive that is usable. Formatting reaches 100%, but then I get no confirmation of job completion. The drive just asks to be initiated by my Mac and a windows PC does not even detect it.
Any ideas?

Can you post a screenshot of the writer window when it has finished?
It's normal that the drive is unreadable by mac or PC; it's formatted EXT2 which (without additional software) only Linux machines can read.

oh, I see. So its normal for my widows not to see it.
Is there any way to test it on my Mac or windows? I dont want to rock up to the cinema with a dud copy?
Cheers

What does the disk writer window look like when it's finished?
I don't have any personal recommendations on ext2 readers but some googling suggests

Hi,
On Windows you can also try the free driver Ext2Fsd : https://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fs ... e/download I used it frequently some years ago. I don't know if it's still working well on recent W10/W11 versions.
(I linked to version 0.68 because 0.69 has some issues but there is also an updated fork you can test : http://www.acc.umu.se/~bosse/)
It's safer that you do not use these drivers for writing.
In my experience DCP-o-matic Disk Writer creates correct ext2 drives if - like Carl said - it finishes correctly.
