23.98fps conversion to 24fps

Hello,

I've been asked to make a 24fps DCP from a file that is 23.98fps. I've done some digging and it would seem that DCP-o-matic can do the conversion, I just wanted to check if this is a reliable method or whether it's safer to convert the original file first before putting it into the software?
