Hey folks,
Did anyone on here ever perfect the steps to create a 3D DCP from a 3D blu-ray rip? I experimented with this process a few years ago and I couldn't ever nail it down.
I'm hoping to run something in February that Lionsgate supposedly no longer has DCP materials for (but has a 3D blu-ray.)

I haven't but I'm interested in investigating where we are with this. Last time I looked I seem to remember it was difficult because of some incomplete FFmpeg support for 3D blu-ray. What format are you ripping to?

So far, it depends on the application creating the copy. MakeMKV does extract the full information, but leaves it in that original format, which DCP-o-matic currently can not use for 3D (stereo track is ignored). DVDfab does also extract stereo, but seems to transcode (lossy) into a format that DCP-o-matic can read - as far as I know, dual file, or splitscreen/SBS.
There are probably tools that can convert MakeMKVs MKV into a format that DCP-o-matic understands.
