"KDM is invalid" in logs

Hi!

The film owner gave me an encrypted DCP with cpl file.

My steps:

1. In DCP-o-matic I create new project.
2. Click "Add DCP..." and select DCP (OV folder).
3. Right click on DCP and click "Set project DCP settings from this DCP".
4. Click Jobs -> Make KDM
5. Select CPL file from OV folder.
6. Add cinema (dcpomatic) and screen (use exporder leaf certificate from Preferences -> Keys...)
7. Click "Make KDMs", and see "1 KDM written...." message.
8. Right click on DCP that have red warning "NEED KDM", click "Add KDM.." and select created KDM file.

There is no visible errors, but the "NEED KDM" warning remains. And in log file (in project folder) I see message "KDM is invalid: could not read video frame 0 (-108)".

Please, help me! What I do wrong?

If the original DCP is encrypted you need a DKDM from whoever made it, targeted at your copy of DCP-o-matic.

I only have CPL file (attached). Can I make DKDM / KDM from it?

No. The CPL is part of the DCP, but you need to obtain a DKDM from whoever created the encrypted DCP. If decrypting DCPs was so easy, the whole DCI security system would be a joke.

Are you supposed to do something with this DCP other than screen it?

Is so, you need a DKDM from the one who created the DCP.

If not, you need a regular KDMs targeted at cinema servers so you can screen the DCP.

You cannot make KDMs yourself or altering the existing DCP if you don’t have a DKDM targeted at your installation of DoM.
