Problem with the DISK WRITER for mac

Make sure you are typing I am sure exactly like that (with no change to capitalisation)

Thank you so much for your help, Carl! It looks like I reached the next level!

The capitalisation was the thing, but not with "I am sure". I was wondering why I should type that because the German mask says I have to type "Ja". So I tried at first "Yes" and then without the capitalisation "yes" and it seemed to work immediately!
But unfortunately the formatting process doesn't work for real. It stays at 0%.

But the drive is not recognizable for the mac anymore so something works already. The mac shows this mask:

The first means "eject disk", the second "ignore" and the last "initialize"
First I chose "ignore" and formatting stayed with 0%. Then I cose "intalize" with same result.
Then I canceled the process. When I do that the programm freezes.

Sorry about the confusion with "yes" / "I am sure" - I mixed up my dialog boxes. I'll fix those problems (the translation works for the displayed text but is not taken into account when checking).

How long did you wait for the formatting? It can be very slow (for reasons we haven't figured out yet). Clicking "Ignorieren" is probably OK, but I usually just ignore that dialog box. As you say, it's just because macOS can no longer read the drive.

I guess I waited for the formatting about 25 minutes. Was that too short?
Yeah, I thought about ignoring the dialog box too. But after a while I thought that might be the problem so I tested the options.

Hey Carl,
once again I tried to copy the dcp files on the external drive. That's what happend: When I connected the drive and the drive was not recognized as before.

This time I ignored the message totally.

Then when I pushed "Copy DCP" a second dialog box with the same text was opened. Again I ignored it.
I waited much longer this time that the process would start, but nothing happend.

More than 90 minutes and nothing changed.
Do you have any idea why it doesn't work?

Sorry I have been slow in getting back to you. Things have been a bit busy here.

Could you please resend the dcpomatic log files in /var/log ? Meanwhile I will make a version which adds some more logging to the place where it's currently getting stuck.

This version should have a lot more logging, if you could repeat your test with it (including installing the .pkg) and then send the logs from /var/log Thanks a lot!

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried the new version. Thanks for updating the language issue with "Ja"! But it didn't work either. I waited 30 minutes but the programme didn't start writing on the disk.
