Hi,
when screening short film playlists with DCPs created by DOM in a cinema we notice short flashes at the moment the frame rate switches i.e. from 24 to 25. DCP A wit 24 fps ends - short flash - DCP B with 25 fps starts (or vice versus).
Of course we do not know if it's a DOM issue, but: Has anyone an idea how to solve?
Thanks!
Marcel

Re: flashes on frame rate changes
Some servers do that, some not. Typically, it's a 24/25 fps issue. Is this a Dolby DSS server?
You can try to put short server blacks between CPLs, or do short dowser close/opens to mask the flashing.
Another option would be to conform all CPLs in a program block to the same frame rate with DCP-o-matic.

Hi,
thanks!
"Another option would be to conform all CPLs in a program block to the same frame rate with DCP-o-matic."
What does happen with different frame rates in this case? Speed change?
Thanks!

Speed change, indeed.
