DCP-o-matic

I'm using a macbook pro (m1) and have a 500 GB external drive connected.
I unmounted the external and went into writer and asked it to copy onto the drive but I get an error message:

Error: failed to write MBR (5)

Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong .. for example, does the drive need to be formatted to EXT3 in advance (the theater is requiring a EXT3 formatted drive) or does the Writer do this for me?

Hi, I think this is a known bug, probably in DCP-o-matic. There are some steps here which might fix it.

I was in a time crunch so I figured out another workaround but will try this method next time I get a chance.
