Hi, everyone,
I'm new here and will have some more questions later, but so far I'd like to ask whether there is a plan or, at least, a chance to have a Flatpak https://www.flatpak.org (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flatpak) installation package available in the (near) future, in order to get DCP-o-matic run on Fedora Silverblue https://silverblue.fedoraproject.org (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fedora_Linux#Silverblue).
I see there's an AppImage (https://dcpomatic.com/download) created, but there are issues reported with AIs on FS (e.g., https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/ ... rblue/5659).
I believe that the 'immutable' Silverblue may serve as a super-stable 'backbone' for the mission-critical cinema deployment.
note: I don't currently have (though had in the past) a Silverblue installation available (to test the AI), but anyway (even if the DOM's AI worked) I still would prefer the Silverblue's 'native' Flatpak format.
THX in advance!
Flatpak (Fedora Silverblue)

Re: Flatpak (Fedora Silverblue)
Hi again,
any news on this topic?
A lot of SW is available on Flathub, e.g.:
MakeMKV https://flathub.org/apps/com.makemkv.MakeMKV
MediaInfo https://flathub.org/cs/apps/net.mediaarea.MediaInfo
VLC https://flathub.org/cs/apps/org.videolan.VLC
Regarding immutable desktops and Fedora, users can choose from multiple desktop environments (3, as of now):
GNOME https://fedoraproject.org/silverblue/
KDE Plasma https://fedoraproject.org/kinoite/
Sway https://fedoraproject.org/sericea/
Thanks. Best!

Re: Flatpak (Fedora Silverblue)
Hi,
I did some tinkering with this but it's not working yet. I bumped the priority of it slightly so hopefully I'll get to it soon. There's a bug note here if you want to keep track.
Best,
Carl

Re: Flatpak (Fedora Silverblue)
Hey again, I tried quite hard to get a sensible flatpak built but for now unfortunately I have run out of energy/patience with the whole thing. If you know anybody that might want to help, feel free to send them my way!
For reference, the place I got stuck was with the handling of locale data (i.e. translations) which (unless I'm missing something) seems almost completely undocumented from the package-builder's point of view.
