Hiya.
I'm a video editor, and for a short film DCP I need to make an LCR (I barely know what this is).
I have 3 stems MX,DX and FX which are stereo.
How should I process these three (I have Premiere) to make them correct to add manually for DCP-o-Matic?
Will I need to "fake" the other 3 channels of a 5.1?
I think I have to split each stereo file out mono - lefts and rights - except for the DX.
So I'd end up with
1) Mono for LEFT (MX & FX)
2) Mono for RIGHT (MX & FX)
3) Mono for CENTER (DX)
Is this the right approach?
We may be able to afford a 5.1 mix another time, but I need a last-minute DCP for one presentation.

In LCR, C should carry all onscreen speaking voices + sound fx, while L and R should carry stereo music (and sound fx where useful from an L/R perspective).
You can route these signals to a three or four channel output file even if you are only using a stereo setup for monitoring - while monitoring, you will have a phantom center for C/dialog.
You don't have to create a full 5.1 mix. LFE and surround channels may be silent, no problem with that. Technically, you should create a 5.1 audio file, with channels 1-3 carrying active signals, and 4-6 silence. If you only have three mono tracks to begin with, DCP-o-matic will create silence in channels 4-6 automatically when you create a 5.1 DCP.
