Not Possible to create VF

Hello,

I was Trying to add a VF-File to an existing, not made by my own, DCP. I took an MKA-Audio-File from Bluray-Version (where the OV-File is made from) of that movie and try to create an VF for the German Dub. Always, when i try to add the MKA-File into the Project, where the OV File is added, it tell me that it change the settings to OV. What mistake i make?

I try to do it step by step like its written in the Manual of DCP-O-Matic. I had unfortunatly no success

Sure. What i Do:

- I Add in a new Project my OV DCP obet Add DCP
- Then i go To Tools click there VF
- then i check the two Boxes for Picture and Sound because my OV DCP has both
- then i add the MKA-Soundfile over „add files“ and i get the Error in Attchment…

What is my fault i make? Do i forgot something important?

Great, and how about the same window after you added the sound files, and it gave you the error message?

After that i can not check any Checkbox and i get the message that the Reels are not the same in Sound and OV. I have to change it to „Split by video content“.

Is this something i had to do in the OV DCP before?

No, just go into the "DCP" tab, click "Reels..." and then for "Reel mode" choose "Split by video content".

Then you can tick "Picture" again in the VF tab. You probably do not want to tick "Sound" - if you do that, you are saying you want to refer to the OV's sound in your VF DCP (so the VF DCP has the same sound as the OV). It sounds like you want to use your new sound track instead.

If this is the case, make sure you also select your OV DCP in the content list, go to the audio tab, and remove all the audio mappings (so that they are not green). Otherwise your OV DCP's audio will be mixed into your VF.

There's probably an argument that "split by video content" should be the default reel mode.

Even i do so, there is still the same error displaying. The Lenght of the sound is the same
Like the Lenght of the OV-DCP. I will try again tommorrow.
