Hi,
I am trying to create an ADV (an insert) on DCP-O-Matic 2.18.11 by importing a .jpeg or .png file.
It usually works, but with this specific file, I get the following error message: Error: avcodec_send_packet failed [FFmpegImageProxy::image] (-1094995529).
I tried with another file and it worked.
The file not working is quite heavy (around 30MB) but I tried with a lighter version (5MB) and it still doesn't work.
How could I make it work?
Thanks for your help!
Esther.

Re: Issue with importing a .jpeg or .png file
I used to use a lot of image-to-DCP ads, and -once in a while- someone would send a really "heavy" file that was meant for printing instead of screening, or a file that wouldn't work well.
I would usually simplify things. The first modus operandi would be to open on a basic program and save on another form. (PNG, if it was TIFF or JPEG. JPEG, if it was TIFF or PNG, and so on.) The second, if nothing would seem to work, would be to open that file, get it big on screen and capture it with snipping tool (Windows) or command-shift-4 (or -3 for the full screen, depending, on Mac). I had never an issue with any noticeable difference on the big screen by transcoding or even capturing, and the companies of interest were always happy they didn't have to deal with the graphic designer to get another file.
I should mention here that I have never had issues when I was getting a file from a graphic designer that knew what that image was for and would export accordingly. It was always someone who didn't know or didn't care to look for the appropriate material to provide.
I would suggest you go the simplest way and save time and headache.

I, too, sometimes saw issues with very high res or CMYK images. But with todays tools, mostly built into standard operating systems it is usually just a snap to convert them to a more common 2k or 4k type RGB file.
