KDM information

Post by kmeh7 »

Hi carl ,

Thanks and congrats for making this software. Kudos to you. i am new to dcpomatic. i will start making kdm dcps with dcp o matic.

I have made many dcps with easydcp without the kdms and dkdm. So i have good knowledge of dcp but lack of knowledge on kdm creation part. I have read your manual but still have some queries. Please help me with the same .

1. When we make encrypted dcp , where is random password or encryption key saved ? What is it extension ? Can you post a test key so i can see how it looks like ?

2. when we deliver to client...we have to deliver two files one is kdm and other is random encrypt key ??

3 Or they key becomes part of kdm once we are making kdms ???

Added information with example with be fantastic.
Thanks in advance.

It is stored in the metadata.xml file in the tag <Key>.

No, just the KDM. You should keep the encryption key secret.

Yes. The KDM encrypts the key so that only the intended recipient's projection system can read it. Hence "KDM": "Key Delivery Message".

Can you attach the certificate you added to the "Screen" in DCP-o-matic?
