Adding a BBFC Jpeg image after DCP creation

Post by GBMedia »

I would like to modify the XML once a DCP has been created to add a opening card.

I need to add the BBFC opening image card to the start of the DCP to be displayed on screen for 10secs at the start of the DCP. Instead of remaking the DCP which is time consuming, can I modify the ASSETMAP.XLM and add in the image.

Thanks for this help,

Simon

You could, but it's a lot of fiddly work. It's not just the ASSETMAP, you would also need to add a reel to the CPL, update the PKL etc. etc.

It shouldn't take too long in DCP-o-matic... make a new project, add your BBFC card and set its duration. Then "Add folder" and choose your existing DCP. Set up the container size etc. etc. then "Make DCP" and it should spit out a new DCP in not too long.

One day there will be a quicker way to do this without copying the whole existing DCP's data, but I'm afraid it doesn't exist yet.

Hi Simon - just as an aside you tend to find the BBFC cards are supplied to exhibitors as a separate DCP, no need to 'burn' it in to the start of your feature.
