HARDDISK(ntfs) format only with MBR ?

Post by kmeh7 »

Hi All,

I was researching on net regarding hard disk formatting for dcp delivery .

I found an article which say to one needs to format hard disk(NTFS) with MBR .
why so? why not GUID or apple partition ?
and also he says there should be one and only single partition.

thanks in advance

That is correct, and that's what all commercial duplicating services do. It is wise to follow this recommendation.

The reason is that there are servers and TMS' in the field that can not cope with GUID partition schemes. MANY servers will also not support drives larger than 2TB.
