Hello,
I'd like to create a DCP of a still with a variable duration, much like the patterns on Doremi. I'm not sure if it's possible, and if, how to make it work. Perhaps someone on this forum who knows and could help me out on this one?

This is not possible. Patterns like server black are server specific functions. A DCP has the length it has. If you need different lengths of patterns, you have to create them individually, like 5s, 10s, etc.
You could simulate something without using too much extra space by generating a long pattern, like 1min as an OV, then create shorter VFs. It won't need the same storage space again and again, just the space for the full length OV.
