Summary0002870: Audio modification from original sources not effective + Audio modification freezes DCPoMatic
Description

Hi,

I made a 5.1 DCP with a Left and Right channels way too louds compared to the center channel. So I wanted to lower the Left-Right Channel, or make louder the center one, but I faced two issues with DCPoMatic during this process:

  • When I make the DCP from the original files (video and the 6 audio channels), the DCP doesn't register the audio levels and keeps the original audio levels. But I found out that if I make a new project with this DCP, then I can make a new DCP that keeps the desired audio levels.

  • While the graph of audio levels is opened, the app freezes systematicaly when I try to change the audio level of one of the channels (doing right clic on the green square of the channel). But when I close the graph and make changes to the channels, and then reopen the graph to launch the analysis, then the app doesn't freeze.

Hope this can help improve this great program.
Thanks

Additional Information

For the second proble, maybe it could be could if the app wouldn't launch automatic analyse when the graph is opened?

So you changed the levels of left and right inside DCP-o-matic, then re-made the DCP, and your new levels didn't take effect?

Hi Carl, when I made the audio adjustments from the original files, the changes didn't take effect in the DCP.
After that, I made a second DCP importing into a new project this first DCP (and not from the original files), and then changes took effect correctly.
So I wanted to report that the sound adjustments from the original files didn't work.

So you adjusted the original audio files, then re-made the DCP in the first project, and the DCP came out the same?

Sorry I'm not fluent in english. I tried several times to make a DCP from the original audio files, but the adjustments never took effect.

Then I had the idea to create a new project and to import the DCP as the source (instead of the original audio files). And this time the audio adjustements took effect (making a DCP from a DCP).

I can see the problem with the freezes on changing the audio level, thanks! I'll look into that!
