Actually, I don't understand the problem here. |

Wants them un-ticked by default, and the info text not cut off in the installer window. |

Maybe ticked or un-ticked by default is something that shouldn't be a decision of one user for all. The most convenient (not simplest to implement) solution would be for the state (ticked/un-ticked) to be stored from the first installation to the updates, so the user that didn't want the shortcuts on the desktop not to have them because they missed the opportunity the next time. |
