examine content fails

Post by dermot shane »

i do not normaly make delierables, i'm trying DCP-o-Matic as a one off for a good client for a festival screening

the source file are;
DNxHR444, DCi2kSscope, P3
DNxHR422, DCis2kScope, P3

the error details say; "could not find pixel format"

it also fails when indexing a j2c sequence for the same project also DCi2kScope

all renderd out of Resolve 12.5.1

all open in AvidMC, AvidDS, Nuke, Mamba, Fusion, Flame

is there a fast workaround?

z820, dual 6 core xeon's / 96gig ram / dual k4200 GPU /SAS storage

If you are using 2.9.0 or earlier, you should try the test version as that has slightly improved support for DNxHR.

it see's and opens correctly a small j2c ssequence and the preview shows a correctly converted to 709 image (ie bars are magenta as the fielsare render with P3-DCi primairies)

if i pull the j2c file seq apart into smaller folders and then stich it all back together it seems it should work?

issues being stiching it all back together, and the preview showing incorrect color

any advice?

How are you importing the J2K files?

Could be because you are using P3. Do you have a Rec. 709 file in the same type of DNxHR444/422 you could try?

unfortunatly not, the DCDM and the broadcast version have some color changes between versions so i cannot use the HD@709 for mastereing a DCP

the j2c files did index when broken into folders of less than 20,000 files per, The 6ch wav seems to link up,so i think we are in a good place overall

the ony point of concern now is the preview showing an incorrent white point, the system defaulted to "none" for color conversions, so i'm thinking the preview on the UI is not interpreting the color corrctly, but with no conversions applied the film should display corectly in the cinema?

many thanks for your help Carl!!!
